Hey, hey. :3
For those who don't know:
I'm really good at Chrono Cross. I've played it so many times, I'm not only excellent at this game, but I understand the plot better than anyone else (dare to defy me!!! >:3). Anywho, my own shameless self-promotion aside, if anyone needs help with Chrono Cross (whether it's with the gameplay or the plot), post your questions here and I'll come and answer them as soon as I can. ^.^
Also, if you have any questions about Chrono Trigger or Radical Dreamers, let me know, too. I've played all 3 games, so I think I can help anyone who needs it. :3

Hiya! I'm having problems beating Garai. (Is that his name? I hope I got his name right.) He is really tough to beat. I beat him before, but I restarted my game a week or two ago. So yea. I'm not sure how to beat him again. T_T.

First and foremost: DO NOT BRING ANY BLACK ELEMENTAL CHARACTERS. He'll kill them quite easily if they aren't on or above the level of physical and magical strength and defense Lynx/Serge is. If you're not 100% confident in their ability to survive, do not bring them.
Next, bring "evil" elemental allies (yellow and red). If, in this case as well, you're not confident in their abilities, resort to bringing blue or green elemental allies (for those who don't know: green, blue and white are "good" elementals, while red, yellow, and black are "evil"). DO NOT BRING WHITE ELEMENTAL ALLIES. I haven't played in a while, but I know that they won't do as well as you'd think against him (considering he's a white elemental as well).
Since your party must consist of you (a black elemental), I suggest bringing strong yellow and red elementals to the fight. Load them up with evil elemental magic (keep in mind, though, that Garai can attack 3 times in one turn, so they must have a high HP stat). Remember to heal often, and at the end of every attack combo, DEFEND. That's right: 6 points worth of hits, then defend.
Heal when necessary, and do not allow your HP to go lower than 200 (if your elemental grid level is 6, then the most he could take off of you is 190, I think; that's two 70 point hits, followed by a hit that's either worth 50 or 30 HP). Bring elements that heal the entire party, and if you have Revive, equip it on whichever character(s) have the highest HP and defense stats. Don't worry if 1 ally dies; that tends to happen. Worry if 2 die in 1 turn.
That's about it. Let me know if you have any other questions. ^.^
