Uotani Arisa
Name: Uotani Arisa, "Uo-chan"
Age: 16 - 17
Height: 168.5
Weight: 47kg
Bloodtype: O
Sign: Aquarius
Character Symbol:Fish
Occupation: Sophomore at Kaibara High School and she has two part time jobs - one at a convenience store and another at a coffee shop
Uo-chan first met Tooru when they were both in junior high school. At that time, Uo was heavily in to her gang and her idol was the legendary "Akai Chou" or Red Butterfly. The Akai Chou was famous for being the baddest, toughest yankee around. She got her name from the way her motorcycle tail lights would glow red and make her look like a butterly (from behind) when she rode.
Home life: Uo lives with her dad in an apartment. Her mom ran off with some other guy when Uo was in the first grade. I guess her Dad started drinking heavily ever since...he paid more attention to the TV than to his daughter. I guess that's why Uo became a Yankee - she wanted a place to belong to and "Ladies" was like a surrogate family for her, that is, until she met Tooru and Kyouko and found out what a *real* family is like... I'm happy to say that her Dad seems to have shaped up, and they're more of a family now. Uo does the cooking, and they actually eat meals together. ^_^
Uo's love life:Uo-chan has a love interest now! She met him at the convenience store where she works and...he's a Souma! His name is Kureno and he's 26. He seems pretty sheltered, so it's possible that he could actually be the last juunishi?!!
Yankees: Yankees or Yankis are the japanese equivalent of neighborhood street gangs. They're usually unrelated to the yakuza (i.e. the japanese mafia, though I have heard that sometimes the yakuza use yankees to carry out certain deeds...), but they sometimes steal, destroy property, etc. They have a thing for motorcycles and will often ride them at night (how annoying...), they also tend to have really difficult kanji on their clothes that even they can't read, plus they tend to squat in public places (although a lot of teenagers in Japan seem to do this on a regular basis now...). "Yankee" is a general term for these small time hoods and for people that look like wanna-be yankees. Guys and girls can be called Yankees, but there's actually also female version called "Ladies." Ladies do the same kind of things that their male counterparts do. While the guys sometimes have permed and poofy hair (picture Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho), the chicks wear their hair long or short (it doesn't matter) and they almost always dye it brown or red instead of the traditional black. They also tend to wear these face masks that regular Japanese people only wear when they're sick, in addition to *really* long skirts. Just as leaving the mob is a hard thing to do, leaving the Ladies is tough too. When Uo-chan decided to quit the gang for good, all the members got together to beat her up as punishment. Luckily, Kyouko was there to save her!
